Mission HAITI

Impact Ministries Board Members Deploy To Earthquake Ravaged Nation

The news of the devastation in the country of Haiti is tragic and inescapable. Thankfully, people around the globe are responding in various ways to bring help and relief to that shattered nation.

Mike and Karen Wyatt, members of the Board of Directors of Impact Ministries, have returned from almost five weeks in Haiti where they served with the First Forward Medical Team of Youth With A Mission's (YWAM's) Mercy Ship's presence there. Mike, with his background as a U.S. Army Medical Service Corps officer, helped oversee the administrative, logistic and management functions of this team, and Karen served as a caregiver and chaplain.

Their conditions were as you saw in the news. Thank you for praying for the many and varied challenges they faced as they, in the name of Jesus, lay down their lives for others.

Special gifts made to Impact Ministries with the notation "Haiti" in the memo line will go 100% to support this cause. On behalf of Mike and Karen, and all the others who are mobilizing efforts to bring relief, "Thank You."

HAITI Facts:

The poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, Haiti has been plagued by political violence for most of its history. A massive magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti in January 2010 with an epicenter about 15 km southwest of the capital, Port-au-Prince. An estimated 2 million people live within the zone of heavy to moderate structural damage. The earthquake is assessed as the worst in this region over the last 200 years.
